The energy devices (yellow) are
moored to a modular buoy system which is arranged to
minimize the mooring line forces and horizontal displacement of the devices.
The electrical power generated by the devices is transferred by a subsea cable
along the seafloor to the electricity grid onshore. The performance of the
devices may be remotely monitored and controlled via the subsea cable.
Applications:
Examples of application of
ocean energy include generation
of electricity,
providing energy for seafood and aquaculture plants, production of
freshwater
from seawater, purification of seawater, and
production of hydrogen.
