The machine comprises the following main components:
- Cylinder
- Hydrofoil side panels
- Water turbine or propeller mounted to a vertical shaft
The basic working principle of the Multi-Energy Device consist of using the pressure
reduction that occurs when water flow along the hydrofoil side panels with the purpose
of creating a new water flow which can drive the water turbine or propeller. The
working method of the hydrofoil panels are principally similar to the aerofoil panel.
The pressure difference between the side panels and the underside of the cylinder
creates a new water flow which goes from the underside of the cylinder through the
water turbine and out through openings in the side panels of the cylinder.
Since the machine is streamlined the loads on the device during extreme weather conditions
will be relatively small, at the same time the ability to capture and convert energy
will be good.
Features:
- Good ability to capture energy from both high and low water velocities
- Able to concentrate incoming energy
- No external rotating or moving parts that could cause injury to fish and sea animals
- High operation reliability since the water turbine is sheltered against driftage
and floating sea vegetation
