Multi-Energy Device

The machine comprises the following main components:

The basic working principle of the Multi-Energy Device consist of using the pressure reduction that occurs when water flow along the hydrofoil side panels with the purpose of creating a new water flow which can drive the water turbine or propeller.

The lowering of pressure at the outer surface of the side panels occurs due to hydrodynamic lift and pressure drag. The pressure differentiation between the side panels and the underside of the cylinder creates a new water flow which goes from the underside of the cylinder through the water turbine and out through openings in the side panels of the cylinder.

The side panels which have no moving parts are designed to work simultaneously with occurrence of turbulence. Moreover, the side panel design enables concentration of the hydrodynamic lift and drag forces resulting in increased pressure difference between the side panels and the water inlet.

Since the machine is streamlined the loads on the device during extreme weather conditions will be relatively small, at the same time the ability to capture and convert energy will be good.

Features:

The Multi-Energy Device can harvest energy from different types of energy sources including surface sea waves, subsea waves, tidal streams, ocean currents and rivers.

The machine can be installed in different ways, e.g. afloat at the sea surface, submerged, or placed on the river or sea floor.
